Trustee Profiles

Chris became involved with the community centre through Zenith Youth Theatre who have been rehearsing at St Marks for over twenty years.  As well as being the chair, Chris manages the booking system and oversees day to day maintenance of the building.  Although retired, he considers himself too young for daytime television and therefore is happy to give his time to St Marks. When not volunteering for St Marks or Zenith Chris's other interests are motorhome travelling, motorbikes and model railways.

Ian is a resident of Widcombe and Lyncombe and director of local engineering consultancy Buro Happold. Ian is a keen photographer and is currently president of Bath Photographic Society. As an important local resource, bringing together all members of the community, Ian is delighted to be a trustee and treasure for St Marks.

Tanya is a near neighbour to the community centre and has acted as a trustee since 2014. She and her family love living in Widcombe as it’s a wonderful welcoming community on the edge of Bath city centre.  Tanya is an engineer by training, but now works as a design manager in the construction industry. She brings clear-sightedness, strong organisational skills and sauvignon blanc to the trustee team.

Helen has lived in Widcombe near the community centre for 30 years and fell in love with Bath as a student.  Helen says "it seemed natural to return here to bring up my children who went to school locally and used the hall regularly. Widcombe is a very friendly place and I wanted to make St Marks a real hub for the community, so I joined the trustees over ten years ago and am delighted to contribute my time and energy to keep it going".  Helen is also on the Widcombe Association and does a fair bit of volunteer work to help make the area a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.
